Arnold A. Given
Master Carver & Artist

To paraphrase a Native American Legend…
"A creation by ones own hand, takes with it, an element of the creators spirit"

Carver, Arnold Given accepts the legend with certitude. His clientele response,
characterizes this sense of spirit within the carvings they have acquired.

Arnold has been honing his artistic ability for well over fifteen years. He resides in Stallion Springs, a small community just west of the town of Tehachapi, CA. His designs and carvings are created in his home studio.

Arnold began developing his artistic skills with small wooden carvings. These carvings are known as "Santies" by his followers. The Santies are of his own design and have a unique and fanciful quality. Many of his clients are adamant that they have a signed and dated "Santa" each year. Some of Arnold's others creations
include detailed carvings of waterfowl involving proficient feathering detail.

As you may know, moose shed their antlers each winter. Arnold has found the moose 'sheds' to present a creative challenge and opportunity to express his talents, without endangerment to the moose. His works involving moose antler is phenomenal. The majestic, soaring eagles bring a sense of peace and pride to the rooms they grace.

Arnold was 'Best of the Best' in art shows in Santa Barbara County, CA and feature stories have been written in various newspapers regarding his carving. To his credit several art shows are a part of his repertoire. The Autumn Arts Festival, Wine-Arts Festival, Los Padres Artist Guild Christmas and spring shows and Grossman Gallery, all in Santa Barbara County, CA have shown his carvings. Before moving to
Tehachapi he was showing in the J. Nelson Gallery in Murphy's, CA.

We yearn to be remembered, as having made a contribution, which gives meaning to our existence. Arnold has found carving to be a method of not only expressing himself artistically and importing his spirit to future generations, but also an avenue by which he can grant a legacy to his grandchildren.
